Sektion "Krankenhaus- & Praxishygiene" der DGKH Section 'Hospital & Practice Hygiene' of DGKH

Objectives

Numerous rules, regulations, guidelines, and recommendations issued by various working groups and committees exist in which procedure policies for hospital hygiene are established, recommended, or determined.
These regulations and guidelines were frequently drawn up without the participation of experts in the various disciplines concerned and as a result often lack sufficient consideration of feasibility and practical consequences. Moreover, in many instances, the recommendations fail to show any practical relevance.

In 1986, Dr. Rudolph and Dr. Werner initiated a working group in German speaking countries with the aim of formulating and developing practical recommendations and making these available to all relevant specialists and their academic societies, either directly or by publication. This has been achieved through cooperative discussion of the relevant issues with the respective medical specialists.
The recommendations of the working group are also intended to provide assistance in the event of legal problems, the realization of design or construction projects, and if necessary for the rejection of unreasonable claims or demand.
In May 2001 AWMF (Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany) adopted the Working Group as an institution of the association. Starting with 2024 German Society of Hospital Hygiene (DGKH) took over the group as section of DGKH
